Central Bar’s comprehensive services cover a wide range of skills and behaviors that can greatly enhance your dog’s life. Here are some of the key areas we focus on:
- Name Recall: Ensuring your dog responds reliably to their name is crucial for their safety. Our experienced trainers use positive reinforcement techniques to teach dogs to come when called.
- Basic Commands: Establishing a strong foundation of basic commands such as sit, stay, down, wait, and leave-it is key. Through positive reinforcement, we help dogs master these fundamental skills, improving their behavior and making them easier to manage.
- Door and Gate Control: Teaching dogs to wait at doors and gates patiently is essential for their safety and your peace of mind. Our trainers can guide your dog in learning to enter and exit calmly on cue while waiting politely at doors and gates.
- Loose-Leash Walking: Walking should be an enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. Our canine training experts can assist in teaching your dog to walk calmly on a loose leash, eliminating pulling and making walks more pleasant.
- Additional Behaviors: We are equipped to address various other behaviors or issues you may be facing with your dog. Those include separation anxiety, excessive barking, or destructive chewing. Our dedicated trainers are committed to helping your dog reach their full potential and be the best they can be.

Robin
Dog Trainer
Dogs have always been an integral part of my entire life. From a childhood spent roaming the country side with my two German Shepherds, to winning a contest for having the “smartest dog” with my dog Scottie, when I was 10, to my adult years spent caring for and training my neurotic and lovable Chocolate Lab, George, to my current life spent with my three dogs, Lola, Walter, and Beatrice.
There have been so many dogs, both my own and others, that have taught me so much about life, patience and unfailing love. It is my strong love for dogs (and people too!) that inspired me to make the leap into professional dog training. It was George, my first dog as an adult, who cemented my passion and skill for working with dogs, as well as my introduction into clicker training. I couldn’t believe how quickly, and enthusiastically, he learned! I am one of the trainers with Cold Nose Canine and attended the Karen Pryor Academy, graduating with distinction in December of 2016. I’m so happy to be doing what I love and helping people with their beloved companions by teaching classes and doing private consultations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Central Bark® has plenty of Kongs®, tennis balls and other toys for everyone. The dogs could ask for nothing more!
Dogs nap quietly in their individual crates in the Nap Room, complete with classical music and aromatherapy.
For dogs, being comfortable in a crate is a life skill that is incredibly useful for them and their owners. If you have ever traveled with your dog or had the unfortunate experience of an overnight stay at the vet, knowing your dog is comfortable in a crate is immeasurably comforting.
Crate training can take just days or a few months, based on your dog’s age, temperament, and past experiences with crates. The two keys to successful crate training are to keep the experience positive and go slowly.
When your puppy is not in their crate, keep the door open and reward them every time they choose to enter, even if you didn’t ask them to enter it. When crating your puppy, give them a safe enrichment item (like a stuffed Kong) that will keep them busy and allow them to self-soothe while confined. Remember that crate training should take place in a series of small, slow steps that will help your puppy become more comfortable.
Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you care for your new puppy. Our Enrichment Day Care gives puppies all the socialization, exercise, mental stimulation, and rest they need for a lifetime of happiness with you and your family. We also offer expert training and classes so you and your puppy can learn and bond together.

Rest periods can be paired with fun and interactive food toys (like a frozen peanut butter Kong) to create a rest period enrichment activity for your dog.
Not only are rest period enrichments fun and mentally stimulating for your dog, but they also help build positive associations and crating skills. Hence, dogs are calmer, quieter, and more relaxed. For dogs, being comfortable in a crate is a life skill that is incredibly useful for them and their owners.
Did you know? Scientific studies have shown that licking and chewing behaviors (especially those that involve food rewards!) are self-soothing, decrease heart and respiratory rates, and even release dopamine in a dog’s brain.
Central Bark Whole Dog Care
